Popular Wineries to Visit in the Willamette Valley

Covering 150 miles of lush countryside and fertile farmland, Oregon Wine Country extends from Portland to Eugene. Blessed with a temperate climate, proximity to the Willamette River, and protection from the elements by the surrounding mountains, the region is perfectly placed for growing the cool-climate varietals beloved in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Whether you’re seeking intimate tastings during a romantic weekend trip or educational wine experiences to share with friends and family, the Willamette Valley’s network of wineries has something for every wine lover.

Coeur De Terre Vineyard | 16 minutes from Tributary

Best For: Artisanal Wines

After 20 years of practicing minimally-invasive growing methods, Coeur De Terre Vineyard has perfected their artisanal, organically-crafted wine. Sample pours of Pinot Noir, Syrah, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay while taking in the ambiance from their outdoor covered deck, or by the fireside in their cozy tasting room — perfect for rainy Oregon days. In the summer months, you won’t want to miss their Friday concert series.

Best For: Sparkling Wines

Before Argyle Winery became the largest producer of sparkling wine in the Willamette Valley, their land was a drying plant for hazelnuts. Founder Rollin Soles opened his winery in 1987 and repurposed wood from the original plant to create Argyle’s striking tasting room. Must-tries include their renowned sparkling wines, as well as their award-winning Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays, and Rieslings. Visitors can purchase charcuterie boxes from Sprig and Spread or sample offerings from local food trucks during after-hours events.

Since 1971, they’ve been cultivating their wines with Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir being among their most popular offerings. Enjoy a curated, one-hour wine tasting, indulge in a fireside tasting during the colder months, or participate in an exclusive barrel cave tasting featuring limited-production wines (December through April).

Best For: Exclusive Tasting Experiences
